The Caesarean is committed to helping each and every Junior member to progress and improve their tennis, whilst developing a lifelong enjoyment of the game. Headed up by Andrew Evans, we have 4 Junior coaches who follow the LTA’s Red, Yellow, Green and Orange ball age focus system, which caters for Juniors right through from beginner to performance level. Our Juniors are encouraged to compete through our links in Guernsey, France and the UK. We have termly Parents Meetings, where we can give feedback to parents on how their child’s tennis is progressing.
We run a range of Junior squads weekday afternoons between 3.30pm-6pm and on Saturday mornings from 8.30am – 2.30pm. Non-members are able to join a Junior squad for a couple of sessions before committing to membership. We also offer half price membership between September and March.
Our Junior coaches are: Andrew Evans, Ian Morgan, Karen Barnes, Scott Weaver and Adam Bayley

Enables children to learn basic skills and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities based on balance, co-ordination, agility, movement, alongside racket and ball skills.
The first stage of Mini Tennis is very important for building skills and confidence. The emphasis is on the FUNdamentals of movement and co-ordination, as well as an introduction to the tennis skills of rallying and playing the game.
For players aged 8 and 9 years of age. They use low bounce orange tennis balls, which slow the game down and allow the children to keep improving their technical and tactical skills.
For Juniors aged 10 and 11 years old. The green ball is slightly softer and lower bouncing than a normal yellow ball and helps the children further develop their technique and tactical skills.
The children at this stage have developed their game to such a level that they can now play on a full-size court with normal yellow pressurised balls. The children must be able to maintain a rally from the baseline and be able to serve overarm.
Juniors at this level play on a full-size court with normal yellow balls. All of the skills previously learnt will now come together giving those taking part the perfect platform to take their game into the adult arena.
The Performance squads are for those Juniors who we feel have reached a level where their commitment and talent is recognized as being greater than normal
Sunday Matchplays are for all Mini Tennis players. We aim to provide weekly tournaments for red, orange and green ball juniors.
Friday afternoons are “Junior Nights”; these are FREE coaching sessions for all Juniors every Friday (term-time only), followed by the chance to have dinner in the clubhouse. A great opportunity for Juniors to play together and get to know other Junior members whilst improving their tennis skills. All age groups are welcome and Juniors are divided into groups according to ability. Thanks to having 6 indoor courts in the winter, these Junior nights continue all year round.
We also run half-term and school holiday camps.
Junior Club nights are FREE coaching sessions for all our Juniors as part of your membership package. Available every Friday from 4-6pm during term time. Non-members are invited to two ‘taster’ Friday afternoon sessions before joining the club.
The bar and restaurant is then open for a tasty snack following your session!
